Results

The Ladies Second Team played a very good match against a strong ESporta Milngavie Third Team, on a very wet evening! A draw was the final outcome, with the first couple, Margo Lamb and Louise Robertson, having won their first two sets, came from 0-5 down in the third to win by 7 games to 5. Fiona Thomson and Doreen Flatman won a vital third set as did Elaine Holmes and Liz Smith.

The Ladies First Team lost to Thorn Park 2, by 6 sets to 3. The three sets were won by Susan Bell and Sue Black in convincing fashion. The other couples were Ruth Hanks and Lesley McGowan, and Florrie Black and Eileen Drummond.

The Ladies Third Team lost to Busby 2 by 6 sets to 3. Julie Dodson and Jackie Morris lost 3-0, Esme McRae and Louise Sargent lost 2-1, Ashley Bolton and Wendy King won 2-1.

The Gents Third Team beat Western 5 by 7 sets to 2 -- Tommy Watt and Willie Robertson won 3-0, Gerry Black and Ian Lamb lost 2-1, Douglas Coton and John Middleton won 3-0.

The Gents Fourth Team lost to Mount Vernon 2 by 7 sets to 2. Steve Wheaton and Ben Robertson lost 3-0, as did Bill Davis and Chris Ungruh, while Kevin McLeod and Martin Gibb won 2-1.

Results

The Gents First Team completed their Spring Singles League Matches last weekend. Having won all four matches they have won Division 3.

In their first match of the Summer League the gents First Team lost to David Lloyd 2 by 6 sets to 3. Stephen Rogers and Peter Jon Dean lost 1-2, Calum Frier and Scott Macintosh won 2-1, Dylan Black and Adam Hepworth lost 0-3.

The Ladies 4th Team had a resounding 8 sets to 1 win over Esporta Hamilton 4. Lesley Reeve and Ashley Bolton won 3-0, Anne Doig and Jenny Rogers won 2-1, Susan Callaghan and Sandra Juster won 3-0.

The Ladies Fifth Team faced stiff opposition in Esporta Milngavie 4. They lost all three matches but Gwen Burbidge and Dari Young gained a valuable set. The other couples were Lorna Hunter and Shenah Dean, Catherine Gould and Mary Begg.

In the junior matches played, the Boys Under 18 Team have had two good wins -- against Hamilton they won by 5 points to 3. Singles wins for Dylan Black, Adam Hepworth and Chris Ungruh. Dylan and Adam won their doubles, Adam and Jamie Ford lost their doubles very narrowly. The same team played against Bishopton and recorded an excellent 7 points to 1 win -- Jamie just losing out on his singles match.

The Girls Under 18 Team drew 4 - 4 with Thorn Park. Florrie Black and Ashley Bolton won their singles and doubles. Sarah Sargent and Jemma Bolton were the other Craighelen players. The Under 18 Girls then played Strathgryffe, who had two Junior West of Scotland County players in their team. Ashley and Florrie kept up well but were beaten by their experienced opponents. Steffi Barrie and Jemma Bolton had a good doubles victory and Jemma played well to win her singles. Steffi lost a very close match in her singles. The result was 5 points to 3 for Strathgryffe.

The Girls Under 16 Team played Helensburgh and lost their matches but many matches went right down to the wire! The team was Florrie Black, Jemma Bolton, Sarah Colman, April Robertson. The team then played Western and although all matches were lost, experience was gained against county standard players. The team was Florrie Black, Jemma Bolton, Sarah Sargent and Lucy Cassels.
